Naver Cloud-Seoul National University, Join Hands for Sovereign AI and Talent Development

[Financial News] Naver Cloud announced on the 21st that it has signed a business agreement with Seoul National University to promote the development of Sovereign AI technology and related ecosystem, and to establish a cooperative system for research and talent cultivation.
The two institutions plan to cooperate in various fields such as △joint research and technology development related to Sovereign AI △development and operation of educational programs for nurturing AI talent △technology exchange among AI personnel △joint implementation of demonstration projects and pilot businesses. To this end, Seoul National University will provide academic foundations and research infrastructure, while Naver Cloud will support practical capabilities and technological know-how from the industrial field.
Naver Cloud stated that through this cooperation, the technological competitiveness of Sovereign AI is expected to be further strengthened. By combining the academic and industrial capabilities of both institutions, they plan to accelerate the development and commercialization of advanced AI technology and contribute to policy and system improvement. Additionally, through joint educational programs and personnel exchanges, they aim to cultivate next-generation AI experts and lay the foundation for sustainable development of the domestic AI ecosystem.
Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yoo-won said, “Through active cooperation with Seoul National University, we will tackle various topics such as nurturing AI professionals in the era of Sovereign AI, technology exchange, and AI-based innovation at Seoul National University,” adding, “We will strive to protect Korea's AI technology sovereignty and create AI that contributes to strengthening the nation's AI competitiveness.”
