[Financial News] Futsal is becoming a lifestyle sport enjoyed by people of all ages. As indoor stadiums that are not affected by the weather increase, not only enthusiasts but also general users are rapidly expanding.
On the 21st, according to Mimeo, which operates I Am Ground, the number of members increased by 461% from 54,000 in 2018 to 303,000 in June 2025. During the same period, reservation demand surged in conjunction with Naver's futsal and soccer representative cafe 'Everyone's Futsal and Soccer'.
The background of the membership increase includes accessibility to enjoy games in spaces the size of a basketball court with a small number of people and the expansion of indoor and outdoor stadiums in urban areas. As of June this year, Mimeo's affiliated futsal stadiums increased by 113 compared to the previous year, with indoor stadiums increasing by 91, accounting for 56% of the total. The overall increase rate of affiliated stadiums was 15%, and indoor stadiums reached 22%.
Mimeo renewed the I Am Ground application last month to enhance reservation functions. By pre-saving conditions such as day, region, and time, the 'Quick Search' and 'Fast Reservation' functions using existing reservation data were introduced, making it easier to secure stadiums during weekends and peak times.
A Mimeo representative said, "Futsal is expanding beyond a simple stadium to include club communities, youth academies, and adult lessons," adding, "We will continue to promote futsal sports by developing new features such as team match services."
