[Financial News] Naver's 'Place AI Briefing', introduced last June, has been shown to significantly enhance the experience of exploring places like restaurants and cafes, providing practical assistance to business owners' operations.
Naver announced on the 21st that an analysis of key indicators related to user average stay time and click rates for businesses with Place AI Briefing applied showed noticeable increases.
Place AI Briefing is a service that summarizes the latest reviews about businesses such as restaurants and cafes registered on Naver Place using AI, highlighting key information such as common features mentioned in the vast reviews at a glance.
According to Naver, the user average stay time, a key indicator of user interest in business information, increased by 10.4% compared to before its introduction. Additionally, the click rate, which reflects users' interest in further exploration activities, also increased by 27.4%. Notably, the click rate for the 'More' tab, where detailed business information can be checked, increased by a whopping 137%, and the menu 'More' increased by 30%.
This indicates that users often move to the detailed menu tab to explore further information after checking well-summarized information through AI Briefing, according to Naver's assessment.
The activation of exploration through Place AI Briefing is analyzed to lead to an increase in reservations and orders, thereby aiding actual business operations. Naver confirmed that the number of reservations and orders increased by about 8% when comparing before and after AI Briefing exposure for businesses with AI Briefing applied.
By providing specific spatial information that reflects various user needs, such as 'quiet atmosphere suitable for business meetings' and 'rooftop and outdoor seating allow pets', it helps users decide whether to visit the place without spending much time.
Naver plans to further enhance the search experience with Place AI Briefing based on these achievements. Currently, AI Briefing results are only provided for business name search terms, but in the future, it plans to provide answers with AI Briefing for search terms asking about additional information related to the place, such as restaurant parking conditions and availability of baby chairs. Furthermore, AI Briefing will be applied not only to restaurants and cafes but also to various industries such as accommodation, beauty, and attractions, aiming to expand coverage for location search queries to double digits within the year.
Choi Ji-hoon, the head of Naver Place Search & Content, said, "The accumulated high-quality review data on Naver Place has been confirmed to enhance the quality and accuracy of AI Briefing, providing practical help in users' information search and selection," adding, "We will continue to enhance Place AI Briefing to establish it as a service that improves search efficiency and satisfaction for users and provides practical help to business owners' operations."
