'Eradicate Major Disasters with AI'... Lotte Construction, Adds Safety Innovation Division

[Financial News] Lotte Construction announced on the 21st that it has newly established a 'Safety Innovation Division' under the Chief Safety Officer (CSO) as part of efforts to eradicate major disasters.
The newly established Safety Innovation Division consists of a total of three teams, including the new 'Safety Paradigm Shift (PSS) Task Force Team', the existing 'General Artificial Intelligence (AGI) Task Force Team', and the 'Technical Safety Support Team'.
Through this, it plans to develop and apply smart construction technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and drones to reduce risks in high-risk work. It also plans to develop educational content on technical safety for field workers.
Currently, Lotte Construction is strengthening its safety and health management capabilities by organizing a safety and health management headquarters centered around the Chief Safety Officer. In particular, since 2023, it has been monitoring blind spots at sites nationwide in real-time from various angles through CCTV at the headquarters Safety Situation Center. In March of this year, it also established regional safety inspection centers in the metropolitan area, Yeongnam, and Honam regions. 
A company representative said, "We have established the 'Safety Innovation Division' to strengthen safety management by deploying smart construction technologies such as artificial intelligence, robots, and drones in high-risk work areas," and "Through this, we will reduce risks in high-risk work and prevent the occurrence of safety accidents, eradicating major disasters."
