[Financial News] The AI startup Upstage announced on the 20th that it has secured a series B bridge investment of 62 billion won with participation from major domestic and international investors.
This investment was led by Korea Development Bank, with global companies such as Amazon and AMD newly joining. Additionally, new and existing investors such as △Intervest △KB Securities △Primer Sazze △Shinhan Venture Investment △Mirae Asset Venture Investment △Premier Partners participated in large numbers.
The company explained that this investment is significant as it lays the foundation for a full-scale leap into the global AI market. In the future, Upstage will continue to enhance the technology of its core AI product lines, including the frontier-level proprietary language model 'Solar' and document processing solutions, and will target the global AI market.
With this investment, Upstage's cumulative investment has expanded to 200 billion won. Previously, Upstage secured large-scale investments starting with seed funding after its founding in 2020, followed by a 31.6 billion won series A in 2021, and a 100 billion won series B in 2024.
Sung-Hoon Kim, CEO of Upstage, said, "This global investment, joined by Amazon and AMD, is an important turning point for Upstage's leap onto the global AI stage," adding, "We will lead the technology in the global market with our proprietary AI models and solutions to create a competitive 'K-AI' exemplary case."
