[Financial News] = With no change in the situation where hot and humid air is being introduced along the edge of the North Pacific High, it will remain hot on the 20th.
Last night, tropical nights continued in urban areas like Seoul and coastal areas like Gangneung. Seoul experienced its fifth consecutive tropical night, and Gangneung its seventh.
The highest daytime temperature is expected to be between 30 and 36 degrees.
The daytime temperature in Gwangju will rise to 35 degrees, Daegu will have a high of 34 degrees, Daejeon, Ulsan, and Busan will reach 33 degrees, Seoul will be 31 degrees, and Incheon will be 30 degrees.
The daytime temperature in Samcheok, Gangwon and Uljin, Pohang, and Gyeongju in Gyeongbuk will soar to 36 degrees.
With westerly winds blowing, the 'Foehn phenomenon' is causing the eastern side of the Baekdudaegan to be slightly hotter than other regions.
There will be times when showers of about 5 to 40 mm (5 to 30 mm in Chungcheong, 5 to 20 mm in the southwestern inland of Gyeongbuk) will fall in the metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Jeju, Chungcheong, Honam, southwestern inland of Gyeongbuk, and western Gyeongnam until the afternoon (or evening in some areas).
The heat will not subside with the showers. The temperature will temporarily drop only while it rains and will rise again as soon as it stops.
From the night of the 20th to the 21st, strong winds of 30 to 45 km/h (8 to 13 m/s) and waves 1.0 to 2.5 m high will occur in the outer seas south of Jeju and the outer seas east of the South Sea. This is due to the influence of a tropical depression moving from the southern seas of Jeju towards Kyushu, Japan.
