[Financial News]  The special prosecutor team for treason and foreign exchange (Special Prosecutor Jo Eun-seok) summoned former Prime Minister Han Deok-su and investigated him for over 16 hours.
According to the legal community on the 20th, the special prosecutor team investigated former Prime Minister Han for about 16 hours and 20 minutes from 9:30 a.m. the previous day to 1:50 a.m. on the 20th, focusing on the situation of the cabinet meeting before and after the emergency martial law and the drafting process of the post-martial law proclamation.
Former Prime Minister Han left without answering reporters' questions such as 'Do you still maintain that you did not participate in or support the treason?', 'What did you discuss with Assemblyman Chu Kyung-ho and former Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min?', and 'Did you run for president to avoid investigation?'.
Former Prime Minister Han, as the 'second-in-command of the state', is suspected of failing to prevent and abetting or participating in the illegal emergency martial law proclamation by former President Yoon Seok-yeol on December 3 last year.
Given that he was in a position involved in all decision-making and actions before and after the martial law proclamation process, the special prosecutor team views him as a 'key accomplice' in the treason acts resulting from the illegal martial law.
