【Financial News Daegu=Kim Jang-wook Reporter】The Korea Mayors, Governors, and District Heads Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) signed a business agreement with the Korea Empty House Management Association on the 19th at the meeting room on the 2nd floor of Namgu District Office in Daegu.
This agreement was promoted as part of the response to population decline and local extinction crisis, establishing a public-private cooperation system between the Association and the Korea Empty House Management Association to solve nationwide empty house issues, promoting efficient management of empty houses and joint policy discovery, realizing community revitalization, and promoting sustainable development of local areas by utilizing various field experiences, capabilities, human and material resources, and networks.
Jo Jae-gu, the representative chairman of the Association, emphasized, "Due to local extinction, the empty house issue greatly affects the community environment, safety, and image, and there are many difficulties in managing empty houses in local areas," adding, "Through this agreement, we will actively support and cooperate through efficient management of empty houses and joint response by collaborating with the public and private sectors."
Meanwhile, the signing ceremony was attended by Chairman Jo and Jeon Sang-seon, the chairman of the Korea Empty House Management Association, along with other related personnel.
In the future, they decided to continue cooperation in conducting empty house status surveys and information sharing, policy discovery, operation and support of education and promotion programs, strengthening the capacity of local government empty house management, and improving laws and systems.
