[Financial News] Lunit announced on the 19th that it has signed a supply contract for the 3D-based artificial intelligence (AI) breast cancer diagnosis solution 'Lunit Insight DBT' with Accumen.
Accumen is a company that provides outsourcing services to medical institutions that find it difficult to build their own imaging diagnostics or cancer treatment services. It currently owns numerous imaging centers and mobile medical imaging equipment in 47 states in the United States. It also has partnerships with over 1,000 medical institutions and physician groups.
Lunit Insight DBT is a product that analyzes 3D mammography imaging data to assist medical professionals in diagnosis. Through Accumen's nationwide network, AI-based precision cancer diagnosis services will be provided to more patients.
Currently, the U.S. medical community is facing structural challenges such as a shortage of radiology specialists and high costs associated with building its own imaging diagnostic facilities, despite the surge in demand for screenings. In this situation, voices are emerging that specialized companies like Accumen can provide accurate and efficient diagnostic services with limited medical resources by adopting AI solutions.
Lunit plans to accelerate the expansion of its imaging diagnostic network in the U.S. with this contract. Accumen plans to actively utilize advanced solutions to improve the quality of care and expand patient accessibility.
Seo Beom-seok, CEO of Lunit, said, "We will continue to focus on developing and spreading AI solutions that respond to the voices of the medical field and lead the global cancer diagnosis paradigm shift."
Naseer Siddiqui, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Accumen, explained, "Lunit AI solutions will provide practical value to both patients and medical professionals based on powerful clinical data and proven performance in the field."
