BMW Electric SUV 'iX' Wears Hankook Tire 'iON'

[Financial News] Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 19th that it will supply the electric vehicle exclusive tires 'iON Evo SUV' and 'iON Evo AS SUV' as original equipment tires for BMW's flagship electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) model 'iX'.
The tires being supplied this time feature Hankook Tire's proprietary technology system 'iON Innovative Technology', which balances four core technologies: low noise, improved mileage, perfect grip, and low rolling resistance. This perfectly supports the powerful driving performance of high-output electric vehicles exceeding 500 horsepower.
The 'iON Evo SUV' increases cornering stiffness by 10% and applies an aramid hybrid material reinforcement belt to ensure high-speed driving stability. Additionally, it reduces interior noise by up to 18% with noise reduction technology and lowers rolling resistance to increase energy efficiency by up to 6%. Mileage is also increased by up to 15%.
The all-season tire 'iON Evo AS SUV' effectively suppresses noise across all speed ranges with a low-noise pattern design. It increases lateral stiffness and cornering stiffness of the tire by 25% and 20% respectively, supporting stable driving of high-load vehicles, and optimizes tire life by evenly distributing tire contact pressure.
Hankook Tire has solidified its position as a key partner in BMW's electrification project by successfully supplying original equipment tires for the BMW's first pure electric Gran Coupe 'i4' in 2022, followed by this 'iX' supply.
