[Financial News] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 19th that they will accept company applications until the 15th of next month for the selection of '2026 Youth Job Small and Medium-sized Enterprises'.
The government has been selecting excellent companies desired by young people since 2016 to improve awareness of small and medium-sized enterprises and provide quality job information. Since last year, in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, they have expanded and reorganized to select companies that have both youth-friendly working conditions and corporate competitiveness, and to strengthen government support.
To be selected as a small and medium-sized enterprise for youth jobs, the company must guarantee a basic level of employment for young people. Companies that fall under disqualification criteria such as industrial accidents and wage arrears are strictly excluded.
Applications are possible if the company is a priority support target company under the Employment Insurance Act or a small and medium-sized enterprise under the Basic Act on Small and Medium Enterprises. Applications can be submitted on the Youth Job Small and Medium-sized Enterprises website. The selection results will be announced at the end of December after document review and on-site inspection.
Selected companies will receive various benefits such as exemption from regular tax audits and bonus points for selection as military designated companies for three years.
Kwon Soon-jae, Director of Regional Corporate Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "In the current labor market situation where small and medium-sized enterprises are experiencing a shortage of manpower and young people are facing difficulties in finding jobs, discovering and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises that provide excellent youth jobs is very important," adding, "We will continue to strengthen policy support so that excellent small and medium-sized enterprises can grow together with young people."
