Date for Third Summons Investigation Not Yet Set
[Financial News] The second summons investigation into Kim Keon-hee, who is facing 16 charges including allegations of stock manipulation involving Deutsche Motors, concluded after more than 6 hours.
The special prosecutor's team announced that the summons investigation of Ms. Kim, which began at 10:00 AM on the 18th, concluded at 4:02 PM on the same day. Ms. Kim left the premises after reviewing the records at 4:37 PM.
During the morning investigation, Ms. Kim was questioned about the 'Myung Tae-gyun nomination intervention allegations'. However, Ms. Kim mostly exercised her right to remain silent in response to the special prosecutor's questions. The special prosecutor's team also pursued inquiries about the 'Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations' during the afternoon investigation, but similarly, Ms. Kim exercised her right to remain silent and did not speak. Occasionally, Ms. Kim avoided the special prosecutor's investigation by responding with 'I don't remember' or 'I don't know well'.
It appears that Ms. Kim does not intend to comply readily with the special prosecutor's investigation. During the first summons investigation on the 6th, Ms. Kim did not exercise her right to remain silent and actively denied most of the allegations, but during the pre-arrest interrogation (warrant review), the special prosecutor revealed the authenticity of the 'Van Cleef necklace', exposing Ms. Kim's falsehoods. It seems that Ms. Kim intends to avoid getting caught up in the special prosecutor's investigation by maximizing the use of her right to remain silent, as she is unaware of the evidence the special prosecutor's team has secured.
