[Financial News] The police investigating independent Assemblyman Lee Chun-seok's alleged stock transactions under borrowed names plan to decide on additional summons based on the analysis of seized items.
A representative from the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency said on the 18th, "We are focusing on analyzing the seized items and will decide on additional summons thereafter."
Assemblyman Lee was caught by the media on the 4th trading stocks related to artificial intelligence (AI), such as Naver and LG CNS, under the name of his aide, Cha Mo, in the National Assembly main hall.
On the 5th, the police received a complaint through the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul, transferred the case to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crime Investigation Unit, and formed a dedicated investigation team of 25 members on the 7th to conduct the investigation. On the 11th, they conducted a search and seizure of Assemblyman Lee's office and residence, and on the 14th, called Assemblyman Lee for about 7 hours of investigation. It is reported that Assemblyman Lee admitted to the allegations of stock transactions under borrowed names.
