[Financial News] Nexen Tire is launching a locally tailored product and strengthening logistics and marketing to aggressively target the Australian market, where there is high demand for sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and pickup trucks.
Nexen Tire announced on the 18th that it is launching the 'Roadian ATX' in the Australian market and is officially entering the local market.
The Roadian ATX is a tire specifically designed for SUVs and pickup trucks, equipped for both on-road and off-road driving. It is optimized for the diverse terrains and significant climate changes of Australia, including deserts, mountains, and unpaved roads, and features a high-performance compound resistant to wear, enhancing both driving performance and mileage.
Technologies specialized for wet and rough terrain driving have also been applied. The '3D Kerf' technology, with finely designed grooves, ensures stable grip even on wet surfaces, and it has received the '3PMSF' certification, which is applied to winter tires for its recognized performance on snowy roads. The 'Stone Ejector' technology naturally expels stones from the tire grooves during driving, and the 'Side Biter' technology, designed with protrusions on the tire sides, enhances stability on rough roads.
This new product launch is part of a strategy to target large-inch tires, reflecting the preference for large vehicles in the Australian market. The Roadian ATX is being supplied as original equipment (OE) tires for Jeep's 'Wrangler' and 'Gladiator' models.
Meanwhile, Nexen Tire is focusing on strengthening its supply network and brand recognition in Australia, which it considers a strategic market. It is expanding its distribution network centered on the eastern coastal economic zone connecting Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and plans to open additional logistics hubs in the second half of this year. Additionally, it is enhancing communication with local customers through official sponsorship of the Australian professional soccer team 'Sydney FC'.
A Nexen Tire representative stated, "The Roadian ATX is a product launched reflecting the characteristics of the Australian market and feedback from local customers," and added, "We plan to continuously expand our presence in the Australian market through product localization and distribution network expansion."
