Technical Seminar and Field Visit
[Financial News] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 18th that it conducted the 'International Railway Institution Student Training' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport from the 13th to the 14th.
This training was prepared to share Korea's railway technology and operational know-how and to exchange with international railway experts.
The training invited railway personnel from three countries: Tanzania, Egypt, and Poland. About 10 students from the Tanzania Railways Corporation, Ministry of Transport, Land Transport Regulatory Authority, Egyptian National Railways, Tunnel Authority, and Polish State Railways attended.
On the first day of the seminar, the current status of railway projects in each country was presented and the possibility of technical exchange cooperation was discussed. On the second day, they visited the RomanSys Co., Ltd. factory in Changwon, Gyeongnam, to observe the production site of locomotives and tram trains. Togolani Edriss Mabura, the Tanzanian ambassador to Korea, accompanied the visit to observe the railway vehicle manufacturing process in Korea with students from his country.
Jin-hwan Cho, head of the Overseas Business Division, said, "This training is a stepping stone to solidify railway partnerships with countries around the world, including Africa, beyond simple human exchange," and "We will continue to maintain close cooperation with related organizations."
