2025 Survey on the Management Status of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts. Provided by Small Business Market Promotion Corporation

[Financial News] The Small Business Market Promotion Corporation announced on the 18th that it will conduct the '2025 Traditional Market and Shopping District Population and Status Integrated Survey' nationwide on traditional markets and shopping districts until October 17 for three months. This survey is a nationally approved statistic to secure basic data for traditional market and shopping district support policies and has been conducted annually since 2006 through on-site visits.
This year's survey targets representatives of merchants and over 300,000 store owners in traditional markets and shopping districts nationwide. It will investigate the organizational status, facilities, fire prevention, and firefighting facilities for merchant representatives, and the business operation status and service conditions for stores. In particular, alley-type shopping districts, which have been expanding recently, are included in the survey, and new questions such as the intention to introduce a smart order system within the next year have been added to reflect changes on the ground.
The survey results will be disclosed on Small Business 24 and the National Statistics Portal and will be used as a basis for future policy formulation and support projects. The confidentiality of the responses is thoroughly guaranteed in accordance with the Statistics Act.
Park Seong-hyo, chairman of Sojin Gong, said, "Traditional markets and shopping districts are the roots of the local economy," and added, "Through this survey, we will closely identify the management status and difficulties and establish support policies tailored to the field." He continued, "Even if you are busy with your livelihood, please actively cooperate so that accurate survey results can be obtained."
