[Financial News] DRTECH, focusing on digital imaging diagnostic solutions, achieved record quarterly sales in the second quarter of this year. With a significant increase in sales, the company turned to profit by raising operating profit.
DRTECH announced on the 18th that as a result of compiling its second-quarter performance this year, sales increased by 27% to 33.6 billion won compared to 26.3 billion won in the same period last year. This is the highest quarterly sales record since the establishment of DRTECH. During the same period, it recorded an operating profit of 0.9 billion won, turning from a loss of 2.8 billion won in the same period last year to a profit, laying the foundation for qualitative growth.
A DRTECH official explained, "In the second quarter of this year, sales of △surgical systems (C-arm) △breast cancer diagnostic systems △dental video detectors △industrial detectors showed strong performance, significantly increasing sales," adding, "As a result, operating profit turned to profit." The official added, "With the goal of achieving an annual operating profit surplus, we plan to focus on further expanding sales and strengthening profitability in the second half of this year."
DRTECH expects sales of surgical systems to increase by more than 200% and dental video detectors by more than 160% compared to last year. In addition, it predicts that sales of breast cancer diagnostic systems will increase by more than 60% compared to the previous year.
In particular, DRTECH is expanding its dominance in the global imaging diagnostic solution market by developing 'business-to-business (B2B)' operations in various forms, such as establishing strategic partnerships with major global clients. An official said, "The B2B business will be developed as a long-term business through close collaboration with customers targeting the global market," adding, "It is very advantageous in terms of securing stability and profitability."
The fact that DRTECH is formalizing its B2B business strategy has been greatly influenced by its recognition as a 'global technology cooperation partner' by global companies for its differentiated technology. DRTECH is actively pursuing its B2B business with △surgical systems △breast cancer diagnostic systems △dental video detectors △industrial detectors.
DRTECH's surgical system 'X-tron' offers the world's lowest radiation exposure level. It provides high-quality, high-resolution digital images in real-time without distortion, with only one-fifth the radiation exposure compared to competing products, securing a clear technical differentiation from competitors.
The breast cancer diagnostic system has secured market competitiveness by building a full lineup that can respond to various demands. The dental video detector is also highly rated for its image processing speed and accuracy, durability without image quality degradation even after long use, and compatibility with global diagnostic equipment.
Furthermore, the industrial detector is attracting attention as a leading solution that presents a new paradigm in non-destructive testing by implementing the world's first bendable method.
DRTECH completed its investment in expanding its Chinese factory at the end of last year, finished trial production in the first half of this year, and is now in mass production from the third quarter. Through this, it has expanded its production capacity and secured a production system that can respond to market demand.
DRTECH plans to focus on producing high-spec detectors along with diagnostic systems at its domestic factory, while the Chinese factory will specialize in manufacturing standard detectors. In addition to production bases, it also strengthened its global business bases by relocating and expanding its subsidiaries in the United States and Europe.
An official added, "Until last year, we carried out extensive investments such as expanding domestic and Chinese factories, research and development (R&D), and manpower expansion, and the results have been materializing since the second quarter of this year."
