[Financial News] Samsung Electronics announced on the 17th that it introduced various HVAC solutions at the Asia HVAC Conference 'American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Region XIII Chapters Regional Conference 2025' held at Suwon Convention Center from the 15th to the 16th.
The Asia HVAC Conference, hosted by ASHRAE, which boasts a history of over 100 years, is a gathering where experts in the field discuss future HVAC technologies. This conference was attended by a total of 11 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, showcasing the latest technologies and products in the HVAC field in one place.
Samsung Electronics exhibited household system air conditioner '1Way Cassette' and high-efficiency system air conditioner 'DVM' products at this conference.
This year, Samsung Electronics launched a new model of the 1Way Cassette-type system air conditioner with built-in Wi-Fi functionality and a compact design in the Southeast Asian market, including Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The 1Way product launched in the Southeast Asian market features △built-in Wi-Fi, supporting 'SmartThings' and 'Bixby' without purchasing a separate Wi-Fi kit △easy control of air conditioner functions such as indoor temperature and humidity adjustment with AI voice assistant 'Bixby' △energy consumption can be reduced by up to 20% with 'AI Saving Mode'. In addition, the R32 refrigerant, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) approximately 32% lower than the existing R410A refrigerant, is applied.
Samsung Electronics is continuously expanding its B2B HVAC solutions business, focusing on large-scale facilities such as premium residential complexes, public facilities, luxury resorts, and hotels in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Last year, Samsung Electronics' system air conditioner sales in the Southeast Asian market increased by more than 20% compared to the previous year, and sales of the 1Way Cassette model surged by more than 35%.
Hye-Sung Baek, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances (DA) Division, said, "We are pleased to participate in the Asia HVAC Conference hosted by ASHRAE, which boasts a tradition of over 100 years," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our HVAC business globally, including in Southeast Asia, based on smart connectivity experiences and unrivaled technological prowess."
