Kim Jong-un Meets Russian State Duma Chairman Volodin, "Strengthening North Korea-Russia Intimacy"

[Financial News] Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma, in Pyongyang.
According to reports from Russia's TASS news agency and North Korea's Korean Central News Agency on the 15th, Chairman Kim met with Chairman Volodin on the 14th. Chairman Volodin conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and congratulations on the 80th anniversary of 'Liberation Day'.
Chairman Volodin's visit to North Korea was made to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of Liberation Day. Chairman Volodin led a delegation from the lower house to North Korea at the invitation of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea.
Chairman Volodin, who is also a close associate of President Putin, expressed gratitude for North Korea's support in repelling Ukrainian forces in Kursk, Russia.
Chairman Kim also mentioned that during a call with President Putin on the 12th, they agreed to further strengthen their contacts. President Putin is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on the 15th (local time) in Alaska, USA, to discuss plans for ending the war in Ukraine, and shared related information with Chairman Kim at that time.
Chairman Kim evaluated the visit of the Russian delegation to North Korea as "an opportunity to further promote the development of North Korea-Russia relations, which have reached a new height, and to deepen the intimacy and fraternal feelings between the peoples of the two countries."
He further stated, "I hope that the parliaments of the two countries will work together to ensure that treaties and agreements between countries are fully implemented in various fields."
Chairman Volodin and his entourage met with Choe Ryong-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, on the 14th to discuss cooperation plans between North Korea and Russia. The Supreme People's Assembly hosted a banquet at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang to welcome the Russian delegation after the meeting.
At the ceremony, Chairman Volodin mentioned North Korea's dispatch of troops to the Ukraine war, saying, "The Russian people will forever remember their courage and dedication." He further stated that the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty signed last year would strengthen Russia-North Korea cooperation, saying, "The joint actions of Russia and North Korea can significantly contribute to effectively safeguarding sovereignty and establishing a fair multipolar world order."
