[Financial News]  A wedding company in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, is under controversy for remodeling a wedding hall without prior notice to the couples who had booked the venue.

According to prospective couples who signed contracts with a certain wedding hall company in Bucheon on the 15th, the company spent over 300 million won last month to remodel one wedding hall.

The original wedding hall had an overall white theme with artificial flowers displayed on both sides of the aisle and around the officiant's podium, creating a strong cathedral atmosphere. However, after remodeling, the wedding hall emphasized a nature-friendly feel by installing 3 to 4-meter-high sculptural trees on both walls.

Some prospective couples who contracted the wedding hall are protesting, saying they were not informed of the remodeling in advance. A bride-to-be in her 20s, who is getting married in November, said, "I liked the wedding hall because it was neat and had a cathedral atmosphere, so I signed the contract last year, but I wasn't informed about the remodeling. I was very surprised to receive a related text message from the company on the 3rd after the construction was completed."

She said, "A wedding is the most important moment in life, and not informing the contractor in advance is clearly the company's fault," and insisted, "The company should restore the wedding hall to its original state."

A groom-to-be in his 30s who booked the wedding hall said, "The wedding is at the end of this month, and since I've already sent out the invitations, I have no choice but to get married here, but I will hold the company accountable after the wedding."

It is known that among the hundreds of couples who contracted the wedding hall until next year, about 20 couples have raised objections to the remodeling without prior notice.

The company apologized for changing the interior of the wedding hall without prior notice but stated that there was no contractual issue. The contract specifies that the interior decorations, facilities, lighting, and interior of the wedding hall may change and that objections cannot be raised for the improvement of the wedding environment.

The company stated that it is difficult to accept the demands of customers who raised complaints, as there are also prospective couples who signed contracts after seeing the remodeled wedding hall.

A company representative said, "We apologize for not informing customers in advance, but there is no contractual issue, so restoration is not easy," and added, "Most customers did not raise additional issues after seeing the wedding hall in person, and we will communicate with the couples who raised complaints to find a solution."
