[Financial News] The Rebellion and Foreign Exchange Special Prosecutor Team (Special Prosecutor Cho Eun-seok) is re-summoning Kim Yong-dae, the key figure in the 'Pyongyang Drone Deployment' allegations, for investigation. They are also investigating In Sung-hwan, the former Deputy Director of the National Security Office, who is accused of the 'Second Martial Law Simulation'.
Park Ji-young, the Rebellion Special Prosecutor, stated in a regular press briefing on the afternoon of the 14th, "We have been investigating Commander Kim since 10 a.m. today and are also conducting an investigation on former Deputy Director In." The special prosecutor team is investigating whether Commander Kim was instructed by former President Yoon Seok-yeol around October last year to deploy drones to Pyongyang to create a pretext for declaring martial law. It is alleged that the planning and preparation of the operation bypassed the normal command route of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and that Kim Yong-hyun, who was a civilian at the time, was involved.
Former Commander Kim, upon appearing before the special prosecutor team today, stated, "There can absolutely be no 'Joint Chiefs of Staff bypass'," and "There was a report to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and everything was shared with the Operations Headquarters."
The special prosecutor team has summoned Commander Kim five times for investigation as of today. Special Prosecutor Park stated regarding the reapplication for an arrest warrant for Commander Kim, "There are still many issues that need further investigation," but also mentioned, "We are not at the stage of considering reapplying for the warrant."
Meanwhile, the special prosecutor team is reportedly questioning former Deputy Director In about the nature and discussions of a meeting held in the Joint Chiefs of Staff Command and Control Room immediately after the National Assembly's resolution to lift martial law. It is reported that this meeting, held at 1:15 a.m. on December 4 last year, was attended by former President Yoon, former Deputy Director In, former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, former National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik, and former Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok. The special prosecutor team is considering the possibility that former President Yoon and others simulated a 'Second Martial Law' during this meeting.
