Busan Suyeong Police Station announced on the 14th that they urgently arrested trainee A, who was charged with desertion, and handed him over to the Army Investigation Unit.
A was confirmed to be a first-week trainee who enlisted at Nonsan Training Center on the 7th.
On the 13th, while hospitalized at the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital claiming to be sick, he secretly left the hospital.
The police, who received a request for investigation cooperation, tracked A's whereabouts and arrested him at Gwangalli Beach in Busan at 1:15 a.m. that day.
A was reportedly with his girlfriend on the sandy beach at the time.
A reportedly stated that he deserted because he wanted to see the sea and visited Busan with his girlfriend.
