[Financial News] A police officer from the World Cup District of Mapo Police Station rescued a woman in her 50s who collapsed from cardiac arrest while returning from CPR training.
According to Mapo Police Station, on the afternoon of the 12th, police officers from the World Cup District who had received CPR and first aid training received a request for help from Ms. A (50s, female) who wanted to return home, saying "I have no energy," in Seongsan-dong, Mapo-gu. While taking her home in a patrol car, Ms. A suddenly stopped responding and even her blinking disappeared.
Officer Lee Subin immediately moved to the back seat, confirmed the absence of breathing, and performed CPR and used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as trained. Soon, the 119 rescue team arrived and transported Ms. A to a nearby hospital emergency room, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Ms. A's husband expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the police's swift and accurate response, I was able to protect my family." Officer Lee said, "I calmly performed as I learned in training. I am proud that the patient revived."
A representative from Mapo Police Station stated, "This is a meaningful case where a citizen's life was saved immediately after training," and "We will continue education to strengthen police officers' first aid capabilities."
