Special Prosecutor, Kim Geon-hee Summoned for Investigation Two Days After Arrest... Intensifying Comprehensive Investigation

[Financial News] The Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Team (Min Jung-gi Special Prosecutor) plans to summon and investigate Kim Geon-hee, who has been arrested.
The special prosecutor team announced on the 12th that they will conduct a summons investigation on Kim on the morning of the 14th.
Kim was arrested after Judge Jeong Jae-wook of the Seoul Central District Court issued a warrant the previous day. The special prosecutor team requested an arrest warrant immediately after the summons investigation on the 6th. The warrant specified violations of the Capital Market Act (Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations), violations of the Political Funds Act (Myung Tae-gyun nomination intervention allegations), and solicitation under the Special Act (Geonjin Beopsa solicitation allegations).
The special prosecutor team is expected to investigate allegations not covered in the first summons investigation. In addition to the three cases specified in the warrant, they are expected to question allegations of Sambu Construction stock manipulation, Butler Gate, Yangpyeong Expressway endpoint change special treatment, and presidential residence relocation special treatment.
For now, Kim's side intends to respond to the summons investigation. However, there is a possibility that Kim may deny the charges or exercise the right to remain silent, as in the previous summons investigation.
