[Financial News] LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it won the grand prize (Minister of Science and ICT Award) at the '24th Information Security Awards'.
The grand prize was awarded to two domestic companies, and the award ceremony is scheduled to be held in November. LG Uplus explained that this award is meaningful as it is the only one among domestic telecom companies.
The Information Security Awards is a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Information Security Industry Association (KISIA). Every year, awards are given to companies, institutions, and individuals who have achieved excellent results in information security technology development, service, and policy operation, and the final winners are selected through a three-stage process of document review, presentation evaluation, and final evaluation.
In this award ceremony, LG Uplus was recognized for achievements such as △establishing a company-wide security strategy △advancing AI-based malicious app and phishing detection systems △expanding customer-oriented security services.
Hwang Kwan-hee, head of the LG Uplus Information Security Center, said, "This award is gratifying as it officially recognizes LG Uplus's security capabilities from the state," and added, "We will continue to be a telecom company that provides security that customers can trust through continuous investment and strategic execution."
