Generation Z emphasizes "fair compensation and flexible work"
The 'golden time' for deciding to apply is 5 minutes
The 'golden time' for deciding to apply is 5 minutes
[Financial News] In the first half of this year, the number of job postings decreased by 3% compared to the same period last year, but the competition to secure top talent has become more intense.
Jinhaksa Catch published the '2025 First Half Catch Recruitment Insight Report' with this content on the 13th. This report analyzed recruitment announcement data for the first half of 2024 and 2025, a survey of Generation Z job seekers, and 37,000 interview reviews to present recruitment trends for the first half and talent acquisition strategies for the second half.
The main insights are △Strengthened selection criteria amid reduced recruitment scale △Changes in Generation Z's company selection criteria △Changes in recruitment announcements and interview trends, among three main points.
First, as the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technology accelerates the automation of repetitive tasks, the demand for new hires has decreased. Instead, selection criteria focusing on competencies that AI cannot replace, such as job suitability and practical adaptability, have been strengthened.
Additionally, Generation Z showed a clear tendency to value 'fair compensation' (83% in favor of job-based pay) and 'flexible working environment' (72% in favor of level-based system). The preference for a 4.5-day workweek was 78%, and the intention for 'micro-retirement', a career break, was 65%.
The time it took for Generation Z to decide to apply after seeing a job posting was within 5 minutes. The clearer the salary, job, and growth potential were presented in the posting, the higher the application rate. In interviews, 'culture fit' and job expertise were valued more than 'passion'.
Kim Jeong-hyeon, head of Jinhaksa Catch, said, "The key to second-half recruitment is not securing a large number of applicants, but how to attract talent that fits the company perfectly," adding, "I hope this report will be of practical help in establishing recruitment strategies."
