Naver Webtoon Partners with Disney, Marvel and Star Wars Webtoons to be Released

[Financial News] Naver Webtoon's U.S. headquarters Webtoon Entertainment announced on the 13th that it has signed a global content partnership with The Walt Disney Company.
Through this collaboration, representative works of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios will be reborn as webtoons in a vertical scroll format.
The two companies plan to sequentially release a series of about 100 episodes through a newly established Disney section in the English app of Naver Webtoon's global platform 'Webtoon'.
In addition to works restructured in webtoon format, new original webtoon series from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios are also in preparation. The new original series will cover various genres, from superhero activities to adventures set in the vast universe, allowing fans to enjoy new stories of familiar characters.
The first works available through the Disney section are a total of five, including 'The Amazing Spider-Man', 'The Avengers', 'Star Wars', 'Alien', and 'A Very Old Story'.

Daniel Pink, Senior Vice President (SVP) of Business Development and New Business in Disney's Consumer Products Division, said, “Through this collaboration, we have been able to expand Disney's popular franchise universe to the industry's leading digital platform operated by Webtoon Entertainment,” adding, “We look forward to welcoming future fans who will experience Disney storytelling reinterpreted in new ways, while deeply communicating with global fans who have a passion for webtoons.”
