Kim Geon-hee follows Yoon in arrest... Court "Concern over evidence destruction"

[Financial News] Kim Geon-hee has been arrested following former President Yoon Seok-yeol. This marks the first time in constitutional history that a former presidential couple has been arrested.
Judge Jeong Jae-wook of the Seoul Central District Court, who is in charge of warrants, issued a warrant after conducting a pre-arrest interrogation (warrant review) for Ms. Kim on the 12th.
The court explained the reason for the arrest by stating "There is concern over evidence destruction."
With this, the special prosecutor team for Kim Geon-hee (led by Min Joong-ki) secured the custody of a key suspect 40 days after starting the investigation on the 2nd of last month.
The special prosecutor team, which is investigating 16 allegations surrounding Ms. Kim, conducted a summons investigation for Ms. Kim on the 6th, and immediately requested an arrest warrant the next day.
The arrest warrant specifies only three charges: violation of the Capital Markets Act, violation of the Political Funds Act, and bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes. These are related to allegations of stock manipulation of Deutsche Motors, intervention in the nomination of Myung Tae-kyun, and solicitation by Geonjin Beopsa.
