Bundang Cha Hospital 'Medical Institution Nature Index Research Leader' Ranked 7th in Korea

[Financial News] Cha University Bundang Cha Hospital announced on the 12th that it was selected as one of the top 7 medical institutions in Korea in the 'Medical Institution Nature Index 2025 Research Leader: Leading Medical Institutions' based on research performance announced by the Nature Index. The Nature Index is an indicator that evaluates research competitiveness by analyzing the number of papers, contribution, and number of co-authors based on excellent research achievements published in 145 representative natural science and health science journals by Nature, the world's top scientific journal. This ranking is recognized as one of the most reliable criteria for evaluating an institution's research capabilities.
This achievement objectively proves that Bundang Cha Hospital possesses top-level capabilities in the research field as well as in medical treatment, and it is meaningful as it has led the bio-health industry in Korea as a research-oriented hospital designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Bundang Cha Hospital Director Sangwook Yoon said, "Being selected as the 7th in the domestic medical institution in a globally credible research capability evaluation is the result of Bundang Cha Hospital's good evaluation, which has built a severe disease-centered medical system by encompassing both clinical and research as a research-oriented hospital."

Meanwhile, in 2021, it was selected as one of the top 10 medical institutions in Korea in the '2021 Scimago Institutions Rankings' announced by a leading European academic evaluation agency. Bundang Cha Hospital laid the foundation for research capabilities alongside the highest-level hospitals in Korea as the only general hospital among the 10 hospitals when the research-oriented hospital system was first introduced in 2013.
After the research-oriented hospital system was reorganized from a 'designation system' to a 'certification system' last year, it passed with excellent results in the '1st certified research-oriented hospital' evaluation conducted last March, firmly maintaining its position as a core institution of medical research in Korea for the past 12 years and establishing a foundation to conduct research and clinical practice together, laying the groundwork for a research-oriented hospital.
