Survey by Small Business Association... 70% Satisfaction with Policy, Demand for Usage Restrictions and Amount Expansion
[Financial News] It has been found that the livelihood recovery consumption coupons have had a practical effect on revitalizing traditional markets and alley businesses.
The Small Business Association and the National Merchants Association announced the results of the 'Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Effectiveness Survey' on the 12th. This survey was conducted online from the 5th to the 7th, targeting 2035 small business owners engaged in wholesale and retail, accommodation, food and beverage, and education services.
Among the respondents, 1347 were small business owners operating stores in alley businesses, and 688 in traditional markets.
The survey results showed that after using the consumption coupons, sales increased in 55.8% of businesses, with more than half (51.0%) recording a growth rate of 10-30%. By industry, wholesale had the highest rate at 68.6%, followed by food and beverage at 52.6%.
The number of visiting customers also increased in 51.8% of businesses. Among the businesses that saw an increase, 52.1% showed a customer growth rate of 10-30%. 75.5% of respondents evaluated that the consumption coupons were effective in encouraging the use of traditional markets and alley businesses, and 63.0% said it also helped stimulate consumption.
Policy awareness reached 99.5%. Satisfaction with the overall policy was 70.3%, and 70.1% agreed on the necessity of implementing similar policies in the future. As improvement measures, 'usage restrictions for alley business focus' (49.8%) and 'expansion of coupon amount' (47.4%) were cited.
Song Chi-young, chairman of the Small Business Association, said, “The livelihood recovery consumption coupons are not just about increasing consumption but are also becoming a stepping stone for small business owners to overcome crises and rebound,” adding, “We hope that policies that small business owners can feel will continue.”
