‘Seoul Northeast Hero Era’ recently delivered 35 million won for the 'HERO CONTEST Hosting and Development Fund' to Gyeongbok University.
Seoul Northeast Hero Era and Gyeongbok University's Department of Practical Music have formed a relationship starting with their first sponsorship in 2023. The Department of Practical Music at Gyeongbok University planned the 'Hero Contest', where juniors perform only Im Yeong-ung's songs as a token of gratitude for the sponsorship.
Professor Lee Ung-hee of Gyeongbok University's Department of Practical Music, who was the leader of the 'Awesome Blah' club where Im Yeong-ung was active during his college days, said, “Thanks to your efforts and interest in the Department of Practical Music every year, we are always happy, and the students are encouraged to sing thanks to the support and encouragement of the Northeast Hero Era.” “I will strive to ensure that this precious development fund can provide more benefits to the students,” he said.
The Seoul Northeast Hero Era side said, “Im Yeong-ung is pursuing true empathy beyond ownership,” and “We hope this resonance will be conveyed to the students of Gyeongbok University's Department of Practical Music.”
Prior to this, the fan club ‘Suncheon Hero Era Woong Love’ also delivered a donation of 5 million won to Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae to commemorate the 9th anniversary of Im Yeong-ung's debut. This donation will be used for welfare projects for the vulnerable in the Jeonnam region.
‘Suncheon Hero Era Woong Love’ has donated a total of over 11 million won to Sarangui Yeolmae since 2021 and is taking the lead in creating a healthy fandom culture through continuous sharing.
Ansang Hero Era also conducted a water play volunteer activity at the Gangmul Orinyang House of the Ansan District Social Welfare Corporation in Gyeonggi Province on the 28th of last month. Another fan club, ‘Hero Era Geonhaengyeosabang’, donated 2 million won to help neighbors in need through the Daejeon Community Chest of Korea on the 29th of the same month.
Meanwhile, Im Yeong-ung and the country's largest fan club 'Hero Era' are famous for practicing donations and volunteering themselves.
In fact, 'Hero Era' recently donated 156,756,000 won (140,056,000 won in cash, 16,700,000 won in goods) to neighbors in need to celebrate Im Yeong-ung's 34th birthday (Woongtan Day, June 16). Over the past five years, 'Hero Era' has added meaning to birthdays by donating a whopping 1,168,340,000 won or directly volunteering during Im Yeong-ung's birthday.

'Hero Era' has an internal guideline to participate in sharing as Im Yeong-ung, known as the 'donation angel', emphasizes donations and volunteering with neighbors in need rather than birthday gifts from fans. It is known that since 2021, Im Yeong-ung has not received any gifts from fans, only handwritten letters, and emphasizes practicing sharing with fans.
