[Financial News] Oh Se-hoon, the Mayor of Seoul, launched a direct attack on the 11th regarding the Lee Jae-myung government's first special amnesty list. It is a criticism aimed at the inclusion of key figures from the ruling party, including former leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, Jo Guk.
Mayor Oh, after the amnesty announcement, criticized the government through Facebook with the expression "no guilt if you have power, no guilt if you're on my side." He questioned "the reason for the existence of criminal law, and why investigations, prosecutions, and trials are conducted."
He particularly expressed concern, "If half of the citizens view the judicial process cynically, how will we maintain national order?"
In this special amnesty, former leader Jo, who was sentenced to two years in prison for corruption in his child's college admissions and obstruction of the Blue House's inspection, will be released. He was sentenced last December and had until December next year remaining on his sentence.
The amnesty list includes Jo's wife, Jeong Gyeong-sim, former professor at Dongyang University, as well as Choi Kang-wook and Yoon Mi-hyang, former Democratic Party lawmakers, Cho Hee-yeon, former Seoul Education Superintendent, Yoon Geon-young, Democratic Party lawmaker, Baek Won-woo, former Blue House Civil Affairs Secretary, and Kim Eun-kyung, former Minister of Environment, among other figures related to the ruling party.
