'Jinan Strawberry Makgeolli' Wins Top Prize at Korea's Traditional Liquor Awards

【Financial News Jinan=Kang In Reporter】 Jinan County, Jeonbuk announced on the 11th that Seongsu Brewery's 'Strawberry Makgeolli' received the top prize in the low-alcohol takju category at the Korea Traditional Liquor Awards, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.

The Traditional Liquor Awards is the only government-hosted traditional liquor competition in Korea. A total of 402 products from 246 breweries nationwide were submitted.

Strawberry Makgeolli is a product containing more than 19% of high-sugar strawberries, close to the maximum fruit content level (20%), and is evaluated to have a deep taste and aroma after being brewed three times over about 20 days and then aged at low temperatures for about a month.

This product has been recognized for its quality with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award, the gold medal at the 'Monde Selection', one of the world's top three liquor competitions, the silver medal from the International Taste Institute, and the bronze medal at the Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Fair.
