After initial supply of 10 units, plans to expand supply to over 100 units annually
[Financial News] Global trading company STX announced on the 11th that it signed a contract on the 7th (local time) to supply an initial 10 units of small tactical vehicles (KLTV) produced by Kia (KIA) with the state-owned defense company under the Peruvian Army, Peru Army Arsenal (FAME S.A.C.). This is the second implementation contract of the strategic partnership signed in May 2024. It signifies that Korea's small tactical vehicle has been officially adopted as the standard vehicle of the Peruvian Army. STX plans to expand the supply to over 100 units annually starting with this initial supply.
The small tactical vehicle (KLTV) is a next-generation military vehicle that demonstrates excellent mobility and durability in rugged mountainous terrain and complex operational environments. STX plans to provide a package-type logistics support system that includes spare parts, maintenance equipment, technology transfer, and operational training, beyond simple export of finished vehicles.
An STX representative said, "This contract is a result of the synergy created by the full support of Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration, the Korean Embassy in Peru and the Defense Attaché, and KOTRA Lima Trade Center," and added, "Based on STX's global defense network and locally customized export strategy, we will expand the export range to special vehicles for government and public institutions in the future."
