[Financial News] Ahn Cheol-soo, candidate for the representative of the People Power Party, strongly criticized President Lee Jae-myung regarding the mention of former Cho Kuk Innovation Party representative Cho Kuk, former lawmaker Yoon Mi-hyang, etc., as subjects of the Independence Day special amnesty on the 10th. Candidate Ahn posted on Facebook in the morning, "Last June, candidate Lee Jae-myung said, 'Voting is the victory of the people and the completion of the revolution of light,' but in reality, it seems to have been a 'sunshine showing criminals' movement.'"
He said, "At that time, the remarks were known to be directed at supporters who took to the streets with light sticks even in the middle of winter, passing through martial law, impeachment, and the presidential election," while pointing out that the amnesty list includes Cho Kuk and Jung Kyung-shim couple, former lawmaker Choi Kang-wook, former lawmaker Yoon Mi-hyang, former Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon, and former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo.
Candidate Ahn likened them to "the cast of a thieves' movie" and criticized it as a "glamorous criminal amnesty comeback casting."
He continued, "Last winter, the Democratic Party praised the people as 'Kissesni,' 'Namtaeryeong,' and 'light sticks,' but in the end, the privilege went to the criminals," adding, "The revolution of light was extinguished with Cho Kuk's amnesty, and the light sticks ended up in the trash can."
