KOSPI, Weakening Due to Foreign and Institutional Selling... Retreats to 3200 Level [fn Afternoon Market]

[Financial News]  KOSPI is showing a weak trend due to selling by foreigners and institutions.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 8th, as of 2:17 PM, KOSPI is trading at 3204.04, down 23.67p (-0.73%) compared to the previous day.
In the securities market, individuals net bought 290 billion won, while foreigners and institutions net sold 241 billion won and 115.9 billion won, respectively.
By industry, entertainment/culture (3.27%), medical/precision instruments (1.95%), and food/tobacco (1.61%) are strong, while electricity/gas (-4.58%), metals (-4.04%), and transportation equipment/parts (-1.72%) are weak.
Among the top stocks by market capitalization, Doosan Enerbility (1.68%), Samsung Electronics (1.42%), and Celltrion (0.81%) are on the rise, while Hanwha Aerospace (-4.83%), LG Energy Solution (-2.46%), and NAVER (-2.34%) are on the decline.
At the same time, KOSDAQ is trading at 809.98, up 4.17p (0.52%) compared to the previous day.
Jaewon Lee, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., explained, "While the rise in the semiconductor sector continues, profit-taking sales are emerging across the defense stocks."
