Local Tax Revenue in the First Half of 2025: 55.6 Trillion Won... Up by 4.7 Trillion Won Compared to the Same Period Last Year

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 8th that local tax revenue for the first half of 2025 was 55.6 trillion won, an increase of 4.7 trillion won compared to the same period last year (50.9 trillion won).
The progress rate compared to the initial budget (115.1 trillion won) for the first half was 48.3%, an increase of 2.3%p compared to the progress rate of the same period last year (46.0%).
The budget progress rate refers to the ratio of actual revenue to the total annual revenue budget.
Looking at the revenue and progress rate by major tax items for the first half of this year, local income tax revenue was 15.2 trillion won, an increase of 2.5 trillion won compared to the same period last year (12.7 trillion won), and the progress rate compared to the initial budget was 74.0%, an increase of 10.1%p compared to the same period last year (63.9%).
The acquisition tax revenue was 13.4 trillion won, an increase of 1 trillion won compared to the same period last year (12.4 trillion won), and the progress rate compared to the initial budget was 53.5%, an increase of 3.2%p compared to the same period last year (50.3%).
The local consumption tax revenue was 13.8 trillion won, an increase of 600 billion won compared to the same period last year (13.2 trillion won), and the progress rate compared to the initial budget was 51.8%, a decrease of 2.0%p compared to the same period last year (53.8%).
The detailed breakdown of local tax revenue for the first half will be confirmed after the settlement of local government revenue accounts is completed and will be disclosed on platforms such as 'Local Finance 365'.
