Special Prosecutor Requests Arrest Warrant for Key Suspect Kim Geon-hee... Will the Presidential Couple Be Arrested for the First Time?

[Financial News] The special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-gi has requested an arrest warrant for Kim Geon-hee, the key suspect. If Mrs. Kim is arrested, former President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife would become the first former and current presidential couple to be arrested.
The special prosecutor team announced that they requested an arrest warrant for Mrs. Kim at 1:21 PM on the 7th.
Mrs. Kim is facing more than 16 charges, including allegations of stock manipulation involving "Deutsche Motors," interference in the nomination of "Myung Tae-kyun," solicitation by "Geonjin Monk," and preferential treatment in the "Yangpyeong Highway Route Change."
The special prosecutor team conducted a seven-hour summons investigation with Mrs. Kim the previous day but immediately requested an arrest warrant, accelerating the process to secure custody. It is reported that the arrest warrant was requested due to concerns about evidence destruction. 
During the summons investigation the previous day, Mrs. Kim did not exercise her right to remain silent and cooperated with the investigation, but denied most of the charges. The special prosecutor team seems to be aiming to secure Mrs. Kim's custody for further investigation, having confirmed her stance. By arresting the key suspect, Mrs. Kim, the special prosecutor team is expected to accelerate additional investigations.
