[Financial News] The special prosecutor team (Min Jung-gi Special Prosecutor) for Kim Geon-hee attempted to re-execute the arrest warrant for former President Yoon Seok-yeol but failed again.
The special prosecutor team announced on the 7th that they had stopped executing the arrest warrant for former President Yoon.
The special prosecutor team explained, "We executed the arrest warrant using methods such as exerting physical force," and "accepted the on-site opinion that there were concerns about injuries due to the suspect's firm refusal, and stopped the execution."
The special prosecutor team visited Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang City, Gyeonggi Province, where former President Yoon is held, at around 7:50 a.m. and directed the execution of the arrest warrant from 8:25 a.m. However, after more than an hour of standoff, they stopped the execution at 9:40 a.m.
Previously, during the first arrest warrant attempt, it was reported that former President Yoon firmly refused arrest by lying on the floor without wearing a prison uniform. The special prosecutor team had stated that they would use physical force to complete the execution during the second attempt, but it ultimately failed.
