[Financial News] The Rebellion and Foreign Affairs Special Prosecutor Team (Cho Eun-seok Special Prosecutor) has launched a full-scale investigation into allegations of control measures at Korea National University of Arts during the 12·3 Martial Law.
According to the legal community on the 6th, the special prosecutor team is investigating Kim Dae-jin, President of Korea National University of Arts, as a reference from the morning of the 6th. It is known that the special prosecutor team is examining the circumstances under which President Kim controlled the access of students during the 12·3 Martial Law.
As an institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea National University of Arts completely controlled access to the Seokgwan-dong campus and sent students home on the late afternoon of December 3rd last year, when former President Yoon Seok-yeol declared martial law. This control continued until the morning of December 4th last year, when the martial law was lifted.
Former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon explained in this regard, "When martial law was declared, it was a tradition to control access to government buildings, public institutions, and affiliated institutions, so a duty officer from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism contacted Korea National University of Arts," adding, "The duty officer said that since there are students at Korea National University of Arts, it would be better for safety to send them home if there are any remaining students."
