[Financial News] From the end of next month, visa exemptions will be temporarily granted to Chinese tour groups.
The government held a meeting of the 'Tourism Activation Mini Policy Task Force (TF)' chaired by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok at the Government Seoul Office on the 6th and decided to temporarily allow visa-free entry for Chinese tour groups from September 29 to June 30 next year.
Previously, China allowed visa-free entry for Korean nationals from November last year. In response, our government has been promoting the implementation of a visa-free policy for Chinese tour groups and has been conducting consultations between relevant ministries.
The government stated, "In the current situation where the inbound tourism market is rapidly recovering, if this visa-free entry measure is implemented, it is expected to generate additional demand for visits to Korea, thereby revitalizing the local economy and effectively recovering domestic demand."
Additionally, the government plans to expand the benefits of the fast-track service to enhance the convenience of entry for foreigners participating in international conferences.
