[Financial News] Personnel actions have been taken against two individuals, including the police chief responsible for the Incheon Songdo homemade gun incident.
The National Police Agency announced on the 6th that Park Sang-jin, the chief of Incheon Yeonsu Police Station, and the situation manager on the day of the incident were placed on standby at the Incheon Police Agency's Planning and Coordination Division.
Bae Seok-hwan, the chief of the Incheon Police Agency's 112 Comprehensive Situation Room, has been appointed as the new chief of Yeonsu Police Station.
The National Police Agency's Audit Office is looking into whether there were any shortcomings in the initial response to this incident and plans to take disciplinary action.
Earlier, a man in his 60s, identified as Cho, was arrested and sent to prosecution on charges of murdering his son, identified as A, with a homemade gun at his 33rd-floor apartment in Songdo International City, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, around 9:31 PM on the 20th of last month. The police have been criticized for their delayed response, as they entered the scene only about 70 minutes after the report was received.
