Kim's Statement, Autopsy Findings, etc. Sent to Prosecution
Seoul Guro Police Station announced on the 6th that they had sent a 60-year-old Chinese national, Mr. Kim, accused of murder, to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office.
The police determined there was a charge based on Mr. Kim's admission that "the crime was committed during an argument with the victim," the first autopsy findings, and witness statements, and handed him over to the prosecution.
Mr. Kim is accused of stabbing and killing a cohabiting 50s woman multiple times with a weapon in a building in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, at around 3:17 a.m. on the 31st of last month.
The victim was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately died.
It was confirmed that the victim had reported Mr. Kim to the police twice in the past. In June 2023, she reported "falling and breaking a bone," and on the 26th of last month, five days before being murdered, she reported "being harassed by someone. Will call soon."
At that time, the police confirmed the victim's location and dispatched to the scene, but the victim said, "It's nothing. No need," and contact was lost. The police continued to attempt contact for a face-to-face meeting, but were unable to reach her, and later, contact was lost again, leading the police to close the case based on the victim's response.
Earlier, on the 2nd, Mr. Kim, who appeared in court for a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant review), claimed to the press that "(the victim) attacked me with a knife." When asked if he felt sorry for the victim, he replied, "Yes."
