The Author of the 'Synthesis Gallery' Threatening to Bomb Shinsegae Department Store… Was a Middle School Student

[Financial News] A middle school student who posted a threatening message about installing explosives at the Myeongdong main branch of Shinsegae Department Store in Jung-gu, Seoul, was caught in Jeju.
Jeju Western Police Station announced on the 6th that they are investigating a first-year middle school male student, referred to as A, on charges of public intimidation under the Criminal Act.
Student A is accused of posting a message titled 'Shinsegae Department Store Bombing Guide' on the online community DC Inside 'Synthesis Gallery' on the 5th at around 12:36 PM, claiming to have installed explosives and hinting at terrorism.
Student A wrote, "Do not go to Shinsegae Department Store today," and "I really installed explosives on the first floor yesterday. It will explode at 3 PM today."
Due to Student A's post, 4,000 people, including Shinsegae Department Store employees and customers, were urgently evacuated outside the department store, and 242 people, including the police special forces, were deployed to search various parts of the department store for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, causing a commotion.
Student A was arrested at his home in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, around 7 PM on the 5th, about 6 hours after posting the message.
The police are investigating Student A to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
