[Financial News]  The special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-gi is reportedly set to first investigate Mrs. Kim regarding the 'Deutsche Motors stock manipulation conspiracy' on the morning of the 6th.
According to the legal community, the special prosecutor team has decided to approach the Deutsche Motors case first, considering that the allegations against Mrs. Kim have reached 15 to 16 cases so far, and most of the investigations are not yet concluded.
In this case, since the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office's initial non-indictment was followed by a reinvestigation by the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office, the basic investigation is considerably advanced. The reinvestigation by the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office also focused on the insufficient parts of the first investigation by the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office.
Therefore, the special prosecutor team is focusing on finding key evidence and statements to overturn the non-indictment of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office based on the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office's materials. If Mrs. Kim knew about the stock manipulation, she becomes an accomplice.
It is reported that the special prosecutor team has prepared a questionnaire of about 100 pages for this purpose. As Mrs. Kim requested to end the investigation by 6 PM citing health reasons, it is observed that the team is considering efficient ways to compress the questions.
However, it is uncertain whether the investigation will stop at 6 PM and Mrs. Kim will be sent back, as the special prosecutor team may not want to give the impression of being led by Mrs. Kim's side. The special prosecutor team is still in a standoff with former President Yoon Seok-yeol, who resists the execution of an arrest warrant.
The special prosecutor team is expected to summon Mrs. Kim one or two more times. Given the investigation deadline set by the special prosecutor law, it is difficult to indefinitely coordinate the timing of the summons with Mrs. Kim's side, according to the team's judgment.
The special prosecutor team is analyzed to be planning to apply for an arrest warrant for provable allegations after summoning Mrs. Kim three or four times. Typically, once the suspect's custody is secured, the investigation gains momentum. If this unfolds, an unprecedented situation where both a former president and his spouse are imprisoned could occur. However, it is reported that Mrs. Kim's side denies all charges.
