[Financial News] The Democratic Party of Korea highly praised the cessation of loudspeakers against each other by our country and North Korea on the 5th. Previously, the Lee Jae-myung government halted the loudspeakers against North Korea immediately after its inauguration, and North Korea also promptly stopped broadcasting against the South. From the previous day, the dismantling of the loudspeakers against North Korea has been underway.
Kim Byung-gi, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, said at the floor countermeasure meeting on that day, "The reduction of nuclear weapons between the United States and the Soviet Union led to the end of the Cold War, and the reduction of inter-Korean loudspeakers will advance peace on the Korean Peninsula."
Floor leader Kim conveyed the news of the dismantling of the loudspeakers against North Korea, stating, "The inter-Korean loudspeaker confrontation is meaningless. 1.12 million residents in the border area suffered from extreme noise, faced threats to their health, life, and safety, and expressed anxiety," emphasizing, "The tension on the Korean Peninsula escalated as much as the volume of the loudspeakers. We must end the ironic situation where security undermines security."
He then mentioned that as the government stopped the loudspeakers against North Korea and restrained the leaflets from North Korean defector groups, North Korea also halted broadcasts against the South and the release of waste balloons, saying, "This is true security, peace security for the people."
He continued to criticize the People Power Party for raising issues with the cessation of loudspeakers against North Korea and the regulation of leaflets by North Korean defector groups, asking, "What exactly do we gain from the loudspeakers against North Korea?" and urged, "Try living in the border area once and then make such remarks."
