Incheon City Announces Vision for Human-Centered AI Coexistence City… Fostering Core Technologies and Creating Funds

【Financial News Incheon=Han Gapsu Reporter】 Incheon City announced a vision for a human-centered AI coexistence city and is promoting the AI workation project to attract and settle AI researchers from around the world and the creation of an AI innovation fund worth 100 billion won.
Incheon City announced the 'Incheon AI Innovation Vision' at Incheon Startup Park and signed a partnership agreement with six related organizations, including the Korea Physical AI Association, on the 4th.
The city plans to achieve AI innovation through 'Physical AI', which has a physical entity, based on its vast manufacturing data as a manufacturing-based city and its strengths in location connected to the world through the Incheon Free Economic Zone's smart city construction experience and airports and ports.
Accordingly, the city will create a physical AI innovation ecosystem to promote the convergence of physical AI technology and regional strategic industries and actively support the development of the materials, parts, and equipment industry and human resources in collaboration with local industrial complexes and universities.
In particular, the city will create an AI workation project (a compound word of Work and Vacation, a work style that allows you to enjoy work and vacation simultaneously at resorts or travel destinations) and an AI innovation fund worth 100 billion won to attract and settle AI researchers from around the world and foster AI convergence talents.
The city is also promoting the AI transformation of the manufacturing industry. To transition from existing smart factories to AI factories, the city will prepare basic infrastructure and solutions and introduce autonomous robots and AI logistics automation to discover representative cases of Incheon-style AI transformation (AX) and nurture it as a leading manufacturing AI innovation hub.
Furthermore, the city plans to apply AI to all aspects of life, including leisure, welfare, transportation, healthcare, education, and administration, to achieve innovation throughout the city.
With this AI vision announcement and agreement signing, the city plans to establish a consultative body such as the 'Incheon AI Alliance' to establish specific promotion strategies for realizing a human-centered AI coexistence city in Incheon and lay the foundation for becoming a globally recognized AI innovation city in the era of AI transformation.
After the vision announcement and agreement ceremony, the city held AI expert lectures on the themes of 'Physical AI and the Future of Incheon', 'Incheon Manufacturing AI Promotion Strategy', and 'Robot-Based City and New Industry Ecosystem'.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said, "We will present the AI innovation vision as a human-centered AI coexistence city and foster core technologies such as physical AI, manufacturing AI, and AI robot technology."
