Discussion on Digital Health and Community Integrated Care
[Financial News] The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 4th that it will hold the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 Korea Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) Health Working Group (HWG) meeting at Songdo Convensia in Incheon for four days starting from the 5th.
Following the meeting in Gyeongju last March, this second meeting will be attended by 21 APEC member countries, including China, Japan, the United States, Australia, and Singapore. The member countries will share efforts and seek solutions to overcome various health challenges faced by the Asia-Pacific region.
Jeong Eun-kyeong, Minister of Health and Welfare, said, "I hope the discussions at this APEC Health Working Group meeting will serve as a foundation for realizing health coverage for all for a sustainable tomorrow," and "I will actively support concrete progress in health cooperation within the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation."
The theme of the event is 'Ensuring Health for All, a Sustainable Tomorrow.'
On the first day, the 5th, a policy dialogue on 'One-Health Multi-sectoral Cooperation' will be held. Topics include △ the status of One-Health governance considering human-animal-environment health links and inter-sectoral roles in each member economy △ cooperation and communication across departments and borders △ capacity-building cases.
On the second day, various policy dialogues focusing on digital health will be held. Topics include △ the development and application of AI and digital innovative medical technologies △ digital medical cooperation between medical institutions and personalized health management using digital healthcare technologies △ establishment of a smooth digital transformation promotion system in the healthcare sector.
On the 7th, topics such as △ building a regionally complete medical service system for responding to demographic changes and ensuring universal health coverage will be discussed, and on the 8th, comprehensive cancer lifecycle management policies, including enhancing accessibility to cancer screening and supporting cancer survivors and their families, will be discussed.
The results of the meeting held in March will be compiled and included in a declaration to be announced at the Health and Economic High-Level Meeting to be held in Seoul on the 15th-16th of next month.
