Ran in Highlands and Deserts... Hyundai Motor Group Conducts Hydrogen Vehicle Driving Demonstration in Saudi Arabia

[Financial News] Hyundai Motor Group released a video on the 4th of the hydrogen mobility driving demonstration conducted in the futuristic smart city Neom and Trojena region of Saudi Arabia.
Hyundai Motor Group conducted a Universe hydrogen electric vehicle (FCEV) driving demonstration in May on the section connecting Neom's central business district and Trojena base camp.
One of Neom's main projects, Trojena consists of a challenging mountainous and desert terrain with the highest altitude exceeding 2000m, continuous steep slopes, and curves. This presents harsh driving conditions for the Universe FCEV, which has a higher center of gravity and longer braking distance compared to passenger cars.
At high altitudes, the amount of oxygen in the air required for the hydrogen fuel cell to produce power is low, so the Universe FCEV applied 'Altitude Compensation Map' technology that monitors the surrounding environment in real-time to improve the operational efficiency of the fuel cell.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor Group signed a 'Business Agreement for the Introduction of Eco-Friendly Future Mobility' with the Saudi Neom side in September last year and plans to continue collaboration as a key partner in Neom's future mobility sector, including △expanding the introduction of eco-friendly mobility solutions in Neom △contributing to achieving Saudi Arabia's 'Vision 2030' goals.
A Hyundai Motor Group representative stated, "Hyundai Motor Group is the world's first company to successfully operate hydrogen mobility in Neom," adding, "We will secure future growth engines by participating in Neom's zero-emission vision through the establishment of a hydrogen ecosystem."
