[Financial News] Kim Geon-hee's Special Prosecutor Team (Min Jung-gi Special Prosecutor) announced that they would consider legal action if they touch the body of former President Yoon Seok-yeol while executing the arrest warrant.
According to the legal community on the 4th, former President Yoon's lawyers Kim Hong-il and Bae Bo-yoon appeared on a cable broadcast the previous day and claimed, "Under the Penal Execution Act, there are seven conditions under which a prison officer can exercise force, none of which apply to former President Yoon."
Article 100 of the Penal Execution Act stipulates that a prison officer can exercise force against an inmate, including cases where the inmate attempts to escape, commit suicide, self-harm, damage correctional facilities, or harm others, but former President Yoon's case does not apply to these conditions.
Previously, the special prosecutor team visited Seoul Detention Center on the 1st to execute the arrest warrant for former President Yoon, but it was reported that he refused to comply, lying on the floor in his underwear after taking off his prison uniform.
The special prosecutor team disclosed that they could consider "mobilizing physical force" by directing prison officers in the second arrest warrant execution. The team is expected to proceed with the re-execution of the arrest warrant as early as today. The deadline for the arrest warrant for former President Yoon is until the 7th.
